A Day in the Life of Justin Leslie, Account Executive at Evident

A Day in the Life of Justin Leslie, Account Executive at Evident

“I wake up excited and constantly thinking about selling Evident’s technology, because it’s so interesting and innovative,” said Evident Account Executive Justin Leslie. “It’s even easier when I know that my sales manager and the leadership team are 100% behind the product and have created this relaxed company culture that’s also fast-paced at the same time. We work hard, and play harder.”

Justin joined the Evident sales team in May 2021 as a fully remote Account Executive based in his hometown of Tampa, Florida. He’s responsible for nurturing and closing new sales opportunities, which means he’s making calls, sending emails, and providing product demos to new business prospects, introducing the benefits of Evident’s fully automated, end-to-end insurance verification solution.

“Everyone at Evident is always there for me whenever I need help with something, and I know I can always count on them. There’s never been a time where nobody was available to jump on a quick call with me,” Justin added. “We don’t have too many internal meetings, but when we do, we talk about our lives and other stuff outside of work – it’s not just all about work. I’m remote best friends with everyone I work with. I’m on the phone with BDRs at least three times per day! The sales team is really close.”

To give you an idea of what it’s like to work at one of Atlanta’s Top 100 Fastest Growing Private Companies, Justin gave us some insight into his daily schedule and why he loves being an AE at Evident.

5:45 am – I wake up super early so I can go to the gym (which I pay for with my personal development budget from Evident.)

7 am – I get home, eat breakfast, shower, and get ready for the day.

7:45 am – At this time, I’m usually logged into my computer and already catching up on emails and LinkedIn messages before our daily standup.

8:45 – 9:45 am – We have a daily standup meeting for the sales team where all of the BDRs, AEs, and our SVP of Business Development discuss upcoming meetings for the day and see who needs help with their inbound and outbound calls.

10 am – At this point, I jump right into prospecting and am working on client demos for the rest of the day.

12 – 1 pm – Around this time I’m ready for lunch, so I place an order through GrubHub using my lunch budget from Evident. One of my favorite spots to order from here in Tampa is this place called Moxies Cafe that has a great Cuban sandwich. Sometimes I’ll catch up on the phone with friends or family for a few minutes… I love working remotely.

1 – 5 pm – After lunch, and until the end of the work day, it’s a mix of internal meetings and client demos, which is why I try to do most of my prospecting in the morning.

5 – 7 pm – I typically go to happy hour at different bars around the Tampa area. On Tuesdays, we go to this Mexican restaurant called Miguelitos, but the rest of the week, you can usually find me enjoying a beer (I’m big into IPAs) and some bar food that’s always fried and under $5.

8:30 – 9 pm – I get home from happy hour and watch some TV and do a little more work before I officially wrap up my day.

Fun Facts about Justin:

  • When I’m not at work, I’m either boating, golfing, or playing Pickleball.
  • I love Evident’s unlimited PTO policy. I never have to worry about the little things I need to get done during the day eating into my paid vacation hours.
  • I’ve got a super “fancy-dancy” standup desk in my home office (purchased with my Evident personal development budget.)
  • Favorite thing about working for Evident: When a new customer signs, of course!
